The Heard Museum
|
|
The museum was built in 1929 by Maie Bartlett
Heard and Dwight B. to house their collection
of mostly Native American artifacts and fine
art. This is one of the best places to learn
about the cultures and the art of the Native
Americans. Over a 1/4 of a million people visit
the Heard Museum each year. - Phoenix 602-251-0275

Grande Ruins National Monument |
| Dating back to 1350
you can view prehistoric sites that were first
seen by European explorers in the 17th century.
The Casa Grande(big house) built in 1350 still
stands almost to its original size. It has a modern
roof to protect it from the sun and wind. You
will need about an 1.5 hours to inspect the site
or longer if park rangers are giving a tour. -

| Fun for the whole
family. It started out as a research project to
determine the psychological needs of big cats.
Now the park is open to the public. You will see
nine different shows throughout the day and instead
of tricks and routines you will see the staff
playing, swimming and interacting with exotic
cats, mammals, birds and reptiles. - Phoenix 602-837-
