| Salt River Canyon
|
| Heading out of Phoenix
on U.S. 60 take a drive up the Salt River Canyon's
winding roads and be amazed at the scenic canyon
walls and mesas. In the summer when it's hot you
can stop off at the Salt River and go on a 6 hour
tubing trip. A very relaxing voyage though at
times it does get very crowded especially on the
weekends. |
| Lyman Lake State Park
|
| The White Mountains
is the place to go in the summer if you want to
get away from the heat and Lyman Lake is a reason
to go. Lyman Lake (3 miles long) was formed in
1915 when the Little Colorado River was dammed
up for irrigation purposes. Since then the lake
has been a popular spot for fishing, boating and
swimming or just a place to get away and relax.
